National Sports Day celebrated

 On 29th August, 2023 

 At TJIS, Kanpur.

TJIS, Kanpur celebrated the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand as a National Sports Day. 

 Dhyan Chand, (born- August 29, 1905, Allahabad, India, died- December 3,1979, Delhi, India) 

Indian field hockey player who was considered to be one of the greatest players of all time. He joined the Indian army in 1922. He was known as “the Wizard” for his superb ball control, Chand played his final international match in 1948, having scored more than 400 goals during his international career.

TJIS, Kanpur organised many events in the premises to celebrate this momentous day. The beautiful day commenced with a morning assembly where students delivered speech on National Sports Day.

 Students showed their artistic talents by drawing Portrait and Poster of Major Dhyan Chand.

Students of Group- A enjoyed various games viz.Chess, Carrom, Throw the Basket, Balling Helly & Mini football while in senior wing friendly Basketball match and throwball match were organised for girls (open) and boys(open). 

All over, the day was a fabulous & memorable one.
