SALUTING THE SPIRIT OF INDIA . . .
72nd  INDEPENDENCE  DAY CELEBRATIONS AT TJIS

On Wednesday, 15th August, 2018

‘Our flag does not fly high because the wind moves it.

It flies high with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.’

Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and reverence at The Jain International School to mark the 72nd year of freedom from the clutches of British rule. On this patriotic occasion the Junior and Senior students showcased a colourful spectacle of India’s vision through their performances.

The glorious morning of Independence Day dawned with Prabhat Pheri. The school resounded with patriotic slogans like Vande Mataram, Jai Hind, I Love My India, as the school students along with the staff members marched proudly depicting intense love for their motherland.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Principal, Respected Mr. M. K. Panda along with the Junior School Headmistress, Ms. Rekha Singh and Senior School Headmistress, Ms. Deepa Singh unfurled ‘The Tricolour’ with ceremonial sincerity and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of their freedom.

This was followed by the cultural programme which included patriotic songs and dances. The Head Girls of both the blocks, Kopal Agarwal from the Junior Section and Navya Gupta from the Senior Section respectively shared their views on the significance of the day.

The participants spell bound the audience with their performances and also energized them with patriotic fervor by awakening their feelings towards their Mother Land.

The Principal, Mr. M.K. Panda gave best wishes and blessings to the students with the message that the aim of Independence Day at TJIS is not only to commemorate sense of nationality with great enthusiasm, but, it is a day to educate the students about the freedom struggles which the Saviours underwent to give us the independence that we enjoy today. We should always remember that the freedom we earned was not easy and was through a lot of sacrifices. Sir also encouraged the students to overcome the barriers of selfishness, arrogance and personal egos to be effective leaders always.

The Senior School Headmistress, Ms. Deepa Singh in her address invoked the students to strive to make India a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks presented by the Junior School Headmistress, Ms. Rekha Singh who congratulated all present on this auspicious occasion and said that it was a day of joy, a day to love and a day to show respect for our country.

Overall, immense pride accompanied by a deep sense of patriotism manifested itself during the Independence Day Celebrations. This commemoration cannot be complete without the words by- Max Mueller (German Scholar)

‘If I were asked under what sky the human mind has most fully developed some of its choicest gifts, has most deeply pondered on the greatest problems of life, and has found solutions, I should point to India.”

BE THE CAUSE OF UNITY,

FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION,

FLAIR THE FLAG OF OUR NATION.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL OF US!
