At TJIS, Kanpur

On Monday, 22nd April, 2019

‘Green is the predominant colour in the nature and today it’s often associated with environment-friendly choices and life style’

‘Earth Day’ reminds us to be better stewards of our Earth. It is celebrated to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s natural environment among the students. It is celebrated worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection.

At TJIS, ‘Earth Day’ was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm where students participated in various competitions and activities.

All the pre-primary students of grades P.G., Nursery, L.K.G. and U.K.G. along with the teachers were dressed up in shades of green. The corridor was beautifully decorated with the green colour vegetables, fruits, animals and scene of a garden. Everyone enjoyed the ‘Green Day’ thoroughly in a craft activity in which they pasted their trees around the big Earth. They also danced on green day song and relished a cool green drink. They also played a game, ‘Ring the Green Cone’. The tiny tots were extremely to wear a headgear of green fruits and vegetables which was a return gift for them. Overall the day was Green-O-Green.

The students of grades P.G. to V also participated in an activity where they sowed the saplings for the ‘Tree Plantation Drive’. They also wrote captions on the trees pledging to save the trees and save the Earth. The students understood the lesson that - "The future will be green or not at all."
