 28th November and 3rd & 4th December, 2019

Winner – DPS, Kalyanpur, Kanpur

First Runners Up – TJIS, Kanpur

Sports do not build the character, they reveal it;

The victory is in the quality of competition and not the final score;

The more difficult the victory, the greater the happiness in winning.

KSS Basket Ball Tournament was inaugurated at The Jain International School on 28th November, 2019, in which 218 students of  18 renowned CBSE schools of the city participated with 37 officials. Total 17 matches were played.

Mr Balwinder Singh, President Kanpur Sahodaya School (KSS), CBSE, City Coordinator and Principal of Guru Nanak Modern School, Kalyanpur, Kanpur presided over the event as the Chief Guest and Observer.

The Principal Mr M.K.Panda declared the Tournament open. Senior Headmistress Mrs Deepa Singh ans Junior Headmistress Mrs Rekha Singh were also present on the occasion to motivate the teams.

Pool A constituted of the teams: Delhi Public School, Azad Nagar, Allen House School, Khalasi Lines, Guru Nanak, Lajpat Nagar, Ambika Prasad Vidya Niketan, Siddhartha Public School, Durga Prasad Vidya Niketan, Dr Virendra Swarup Education Center, Shyam Nagar, The Jain International School and DPS, Barra.

 Pool B consisted of the teams: Guru Nanak Modern School, Kalyanpur, KDMA, Barra, Escorts World School, Doon International, DPS, Kalyanpur, CHS, Harmilap School, The Chintels School, Kalyanpur and Puran Chand Vidya Niketan.

In the  First Semifinal The Jain International School beat  Guru Nanak Public School, Lajpat Nagar 44 / 21 Baskets.

In the Second Semi Final  DPS, Kalyanpur won over Puran Chand Vidya Niketan with 58 / 55 Baskets

In the  tough Final Battle Delhi Public School, Kalyanpur triumphed over The Jain International School with 56 / 40 Baskets

All the matches were held successfully under the guidance of trained and skilled coaches. Ms Ruchi Yadav, Mr Ashok Singh Mr Saroj Rawat Mr Anand Kumar and Mr Sanjay Jaiswal  were the officials for the event.

The event concluded with the Prize Distribution ceremony headed by our honorable Principal Mr. M.K Panda, Headmistress (Senior Wing) Mrs. Deepa Singh and Headmistress( Little Champs) Mrs. Rekha Singh.

The Winner was – Delhi Public School, Kalyanpur

The First Runners Up was – The Jain International School

The Second Runners Up Position was bagged by Guru Nanak Public School, Lajpat Nagar and Puranchan Vidya Niketan

The Best Player of the Tournament was Abhay Raj Singh of DPS, Kalyanpur

Ms Ruchi Yadav, Mr Ashok Singh Mr Saroj Rawat Mr Aanand Kumar and Mr Sanjay Jaiswal  were the officials for the event.
